“Seinfeld Street,” the leadoff single from Henry Bateman’s upcoming album A Ghost Inside, combines COVID-19 produced angst with a catchy melody and inspired musicianship.
“Seinfeld Street” immediately draws you in with its prominent backbeat and chunky bass lines. Bateman’s vocals then jump to the forefront painting a scene of darkness and anxiety. The pleasant contrast with the music is striking as his guitar. Combined with the rhythm section, it all propels the song forward with authority.
Henry Bateman’s self-assured vocals tell the story of isolation many of us have become all too familiar with, yet “Seinfeld Street” is hardly a downer. Bateman relies on his confident arranging and songcraft to hook you in and his guitar skills to further dazzle you.
“Seinfeld Street” is an excellent teaser for Henry Bateman’s A Ghost Inside, which is due on Sept. 11, 2021. This new single drops on May 15.
