Out now via Bandcamp, “Sacred Sons” offers an intriguing dip into Projekt Gemineye’s epic follow-up album, In the Year 3073: Book II.
All of the group’s hallmarks are present – including heavy double bass drums, searing melodic guitars and hook-laden progressive/metal lyrics – as Mark Anthony K hints at a conclusion to the tale he embarked on with In The Year 3073: Book I.
A departure from his earlier Projekt Gemineye work is the inclusion of Joe Bailey, who shares leads vocals with K. The contrast works well, as the two combine to tell different elements of the story.
A new inclusion is the featuring of guest players. Steve Hackett/Rick Wakeman bassist Lee Pomeroy contributes tasty low-end bass work, which complements the prominent drums.
What remains to be answered by “Sacred Sons” is how Projekt Gemineye’s epic tale concludes. For that, you’ll have to check out the newly released In the Year 3073: Book II
