Lisa Loeb, the Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter best known for 1994’s “Stay (I Missed You),” returns with her seventh studio release No Fairy Tale on February 5, 2013 via 429 Music. Stream a cool new song from it here!
Paired with co-producer Chad Gilbert, Loeb has constructed this fresh take on her signature singer-songwriter sound — incorporating a post-punk edge that will be familiar to fans of Gilbert’s band New Found Glory, who charted in 2000 with “Hit or Miss.”
There are also two collaborations with indie-rock faves Tegan and Sara — the first time Loeb has co-written with anyone. Appearing elsewhere on No Fairy Tale are Marvin Etzioni, Hello Goodbye, Maia Sharp and Morgan Taylor.
The 1990s were, of course, a shooting-star moment for Loeb. She followed up the platinum No. 1 hit “Stay,” featured in the film “Reality Bites,” with a pair of gold-selling projects including 1995’s Tails and Firecracker, which received a Grammy nod after its 1997 release.
The Dallas native has issued four studio albums since, delving into children’s music along the way. Her single “Jenny Jenkins,” from 2003’s Catch the Moon, has been featured on the Noggin network for kids.
Loeb’s most recent project was 2011’s Lisa Loeb’s Silly Sing-Along: The Disappointing Pancake and Other Zany Songs, a book and CD package. A second children’s book, called Lisa Loeb’s Songs for Moving and Shaking, is due on April 2, 2013.
