Marty Penrose, Joe Mandica + Fortunato Isgro, “Right Here Inside My Heart” (2021): One Track Mind

Authored by Joe Mandica, “Right Here Inside My Heart” originally appeared on the Australian based singer, songwriter and multi-diversified instrumentalist’s A Thousand Miles album.

The cut was also covered on Marty Penrose’s Yesterday’s Dream album, as well as Fortunato Isgro’s Journey album.

With all three versions boasting a different approach, the guys recently joined forces and recycled the composition by injecting their own signature styles into the session, creating one heck of a spine-tingling performance.

Penrose launches “Right Here Inside My Heart” off in an emotionally fueled voice suffused with the soul of Roy Orbison, followed by a showing of gleaming piano curves and the teary-eyed strains of a pedal steel guitar.

Mandica then steps up to the plate, armed with a rich country-colored timbre, which wraps around the sentimental melodies of the song in absolute symmetry.

Fortunato’s powerful vocals cap “Right Here Inside My Heart” with a rapturous flair that really pushes the point home. The relationship has ended, but an earnest plea for a second chance is offered. And even if affection is rejected, the ex-love will always remain inside the heart.

Additionally highlighted by a crisp and cool guitar solo, “Right Here Inside My Heart” aims to satisfy both country and pop rock fans. Aside from its availability as an individual track, the touching tune can further be heard on Shout Out, an album featuring various artists.
