The Eddies are a trio featuring the Hoth twins – Dale on vocals and guitar and Dean on vocals and bass – along with Len Curiel on drums.
For well over a decade now, the Orange County, California band has been turning out high-quality pop rock, and are in the process of mixing a new studio album titled Waiting. Meanwhile, the Eddies are dispatching sneak previews of the disc by way of digital downloads, with “Hey Baby” tagged as the latest tune.
The lead vocals on the song are handled by Dale, whose breezy pipes are seamlessly suited for the sweet sentiment. Resounding horns, spiced with a Spanish flavor, install a spot of elegance and sophistication into the performance.
Glittering with nostalgia, an early ’60s tone carpets “Hey Baby,” as shades of acts like the Beach Boys, the Fortunes and Jay and the Americans are prone to arise.
The Eddies have an impressive track record, and “Hey Baby” keys in as another fine addition to their catalog. This promises to be just one of many crown jewels on the band’s soon-to-be released album.
