‘Not supposed to say anything’: Brian May confirms Queen plans to tour with Adam Lambert

Brian May has confirmed for the first time that Queen is in the planning stages for a tour with Adam Lambert, months after a hugely anticipated U.S. debut in Las Vegas.

“I’m really not supposed to say anything,” the guitarist tells Planet Rock News. “We’re looking at doing something.”

May, Lambert and Roger Taylor first shared a stage back in 2009, during the finale for American Idol. They’ve since appeared at a number of venues across Europe before making at stop at September’s iHeart music event.

During that time, Lambert certainly illustrated the ability to hold a spotlight once occupied by the late Freddie Mercury, notably filling in for a massive show in Ukraine.

That’s prompted fans both of his work and of Queen’s to lobby for a larger-scale tour, even something along the lines of the world-crossing jaunts the group undertook in the last decade with Paul Rodgers.

“Of course, Adam Lambert is a great frontman,” May adds, “and we know already that it works — so we’re looking towards doing some gigs with Adam, hopefully. I’m excited about that, if it happens.”

  1. BRING IT ON !!!!!!!!

  2. YES! A Queenbert tour in 2014. Jaws will drop when Adam sings iconic rock. He has the best rock voice in the world (or should I say, just plain BEST voice). Pharrell Williams said his voice is like a siren and that he is in the Peter Cetera-Steve Winwood range.
I guess Roger Taylor and Brian May knew it all along!

  3. Enough is enough – HERE, TAKE MY MONEY! Please leak some dates/locations since i need to start planning my vacation days! Oh yeah – US West Coast please – don’t feel like going to London again.

  4. Queen+Adam is dream collaboration, looking forward to seeing them live, can’t wait. I’m not missing it this time.
