Chicago, “Rescue You” from ‘Chicago 16’ (1982): Saturdays in the Park
“Rescue You” seems more appropriate for 1980’s poorly received ‘Chicago XIV’ than on this otherwise solid collection of songs.

“What Can I Say” builds on the story that Chicago started with their chart-topping 1976 smash “If You Leave Me Now.”
“Hard to Say I’m Sorry” would become Chicago’s second chart-topping single. But the album-version ending is what made it soar for me.
Chicago’s “Chains” is worthy of praise – even if I still can’t figure out if the horns are real or not.
‘Chicago 16’ as a whole is superb, and “Waiting for You to Decide” is an integral part of that.
Much like Chicago’s earlier “Hold On,” “Overnight Café” would probably have been a stronger fit on Peter Cetera’s solo debut.
Perhaps ‘Chicago XIV’ falls short because it doesn’t sound like a Chicago album.
Unfortunately, once the first verse-chorus on Chicago’s “Song For You” is done, there is little reason to listen any further.
“Upon Arrival” is an upbeat Chicago song with a nice arrangement. It’s a shame Peter Cetera and Robert Lamm didn’t work together more often.
Peter Cetera’s “Loser with a Broken Heart” is a low-quality song that had no business making ‘Chicago 13.’
