Joe Walsh presented “And the Band Played On,” a cut off his current release Analog Man, for the first time during his on-going tour with Bob Seger — introducing it with a hilarious quip: “On the Internet, they say: ‘Hey Joe, why don’t you play some songs off your new album?’ Just because you write ’em, doesn’t mean you can play ’em!”
That joins a series of other recent highlights from the road as part of a just-uploaded video from Walsh, embedded above. We see informal backstage exchanges, the Space Needle in Seattle whizzing by, plenty of crowd shots, and some behind-the-scenes shots from their recent tandem shows.
They’ll play tonight in Auburn Hills, Michigan, then again on Saturday. From there, Walsh heads to New York through next week to conclude a set of 10 dates as Seger’s opening act on the Rock and Roll Never Forgets Tour. Walsh then switches hats to join the History of the Eagles Tour, which begins on July 6, 2013.
Analog Man, which was co-produced by the Electric Light Orchestra’s Jeff Lynne, debuted at No. 12 on the Billboard album charts last year.
