David Crosby had ended his on-going solo tour after undergoing a heart procedure. The two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Famer says he’s “feeling great,” but shows in Los Angeles and San Francisco have been postponed. An upcoming tour as part of Crosby Stills and Nash is expected to go on as scheduled, beginning March 4 in Richmond, Va.
Doctors found a 90-percent blockage in Crosby’s left anterior coronary artery last week, and he underwent surgery on Friday to install two stents. Crosby was touring behind his first new solo album in 20 years, the well-received Croz.
Crosby did not have a heart attack, according to his website, and is expected to have a full recovery from this cardiac catheterization — though things could have been much worse had he waited.
“I am very glad that I listened to my doctors and my family,” said Crosby, who’s gotten Rock Hall nods both with CSN and with the Byrds. “It seems I am once again a very lucky man. I’m sorry to have to move the dates, but I promise the music will be good when we do play them.”
The two rescheduled San Francisco concerts, both at the Great American Music Hall, have been moved from Feb. 20-21 to April 20-21. Crosby was then set to make five appearances at the Troubadour in LA, between Feb. 23-28. Those will also be postponed, with new dates to be announced later. Previous to undergoing surgery, Crosby had already been forced to push back dates in Chicago.
