Ken Sharp is kicking off 2021 by releasing a download single expressing the fear, anger and confusion we have all felt as COVID-19 wreaked havoc on every aspect of our lives.
Titled “Liquid Mercury,” the heated commentary was composed by Sharp, who handles lead and background vocals, guitar, piano, maracas and bell tree. Accompanying the Los Angeles-based artist is the talented Fernando Perdomo on drums, fuzz bass, Moog Synthesizer, guitar, strings, organ and tambourine.
Ruled by hard rocking rhythms, “Liquid Mercury” pulsates with purpose and presence. The swiftly moving memo warns of “evil rising” and “people dying” against an ear-grabbing episode of tightly fastened hooks, brightly lit power popping vocals, strapping Cheap Trick-styled riffage, loping ivory exercises and penetrating percussion. Boiling with tension, “Liquid Mercury” imparts a strong statement in a quick and efficient manner.
No newcomer to the scene, this singer, songwriter and multiple-instrumentalist has been making mettle music for the past couple of decades and has amassed a sizable collection of highly regarded albums and singles to his name. Ken Sharp is also an internationally well-known author, having penned billions of articles, liner notes and books on luminous folks such as John Lennon, Raspberries, Kiss and Elvis Presley.
