The collaboration of Tony Levin, Marco Minnemann and Jordan Rudess a few years ago bore fruit with Levin Minnemann Rudess in 2013. Back then, we marveled at “a layered, dizzyingly inventive project — bruising when it needs to be, and stirringly translucent at others.”
This union of King Crimson, Steven Wilson and Dream Theater pedigrees was successful enough to merit another go at it and their original label Scott Schorr’s Lazy Bones Recordings has announced a realization of that hope.
Their upcoming sophomore release From the Law Offices of Levin Minnemann Rudess promises more of the same heady, instrumental prog rock we’ve long come to expect from eminent masters of bass, drums and keyboards. It drops on July 15, 2016; look for a full survey of this album on this space around that time.
