People of a certain age (ahem!) remember a time when hungry and ambitious musicians would record songs on cheap tape recorders, make a handful of copies and mail them off to labels in hope of scoring a deal. No need to say the internet has changed all that, as it is now possible to share one’s work with an audience of millions with a quick and simple click.
For the past few years, singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Chad Bradford, who hails from Dickson, Tennessee, has been taking advantage of our miraculous technology, and has pulled in a flurry of dedicated fans in the process. Chad’s latest song, “A Day Before Tomorrow [A Day After Yesterday]” picks up where his previous tunes left off, which is of course a very positive thing. Ignited by a homespun acoustic feel, the song (released via ChadBradfordMusic) strolls along at a rather easygoing pace before a pool of punchy rhythms and a harmonious chorus kick in.
Chad Bradford’s vocals, which leans towards the blue-eyed country soul side of the fence, emit comfort and warmth, while rock solid arrangements and rolling melodies carry the point right to the end of the line. The catchy hum of a keyboard and chiming electric six-string fixings also charge the track. Listen closely to the sweet and sensitive lyrics too, which declare a love that is unconditional and honest.
A song buzzing with hit-single ingredients, “A Day Before Tomorrow [A Day After Yesterday]” portrays Chad Bradford’s ability for putting words and music together with instantly impressive results. Those who dig the roots-based pop rock sounds of artists like Joe South and Glen Campbell will find this song very enjoyable. And while you’re at it, be sure to check out Chad’s other great tunes as well.
