Those fortunate enough to have heard the Initiative’s self-titled debut album, which was released last year, no doubt elect “Survive” as one of the numerous crown jewels included on the set.
Featuring Grace Marino on lead vocals, the heart-gripping song is presented here in visual form, marking the fifth promotional clip culled from the record. Grace is performing to an empty house, which gives “Survive” a suitable sense of atmosphere — and yet she belts out the song as if she was on stage at the Hollywood Bowl and every seat in the stadium was occupied.
Bursting with power and polish, “Survive” climaxes into a bedazzling burst of hope, faith and love, indicating the relationship is worth saving. Grace’s sure and strong pipes, coupled with concrete melodies, make this emotionally electrifying song a definite candidate for a hit single.
