Since prolific drummer and composer Scott Amendola put into motion his orchestral Fade To Orange crowdfunding project, the response has been good, but it needs to get better. Thus, we’re rolling out the big guns. The video above contains a quick appeal by Scott’s friend and leader of a pretty good band for which Amendola drums, Mr. Nels Cline himself.
As noted here previously, the Fade To Orange record will feature Cline’s immense talents on guitar as well as those of Nels Cline Singers electric bassist Trevor Dunn. And with Amendola leading the way with the scoring as well as drumming, it’s impossible to imagine this being anything but uniquely creative.
Cline recently sat down for a chat with Something Else! about Amendola, Fade To Orange and Cline’s own involvement with the FTO project. Look for that discussion to be posted here next week. In the meantime, click through the link below and peruse the assortment of goodies still available for those willing to, in Cline’s words, “cough up some bread” for a good cause.
