What a dynamite single from the lovely Fabienne Delsol. Although it was formatted by Damaged Goods Records as an A and B side release, I view this single as a double A-side. Both songs are that strong.
First, there’s the slinky and lively “I’m Gonna Catch Me a Rat” is a damned good toe tapper which will stay with you long after you’ve played it.
My only complaint is this: Why the hell didn’t they include “And I Have Learned To Dream” on Fabienne’s then-new album Between You And Me?! It’s that great of a song and a performance — a beautiful haunting ballad that you’ll find yourself playing many times over. I particularly loved Fabienne’s Leslie-speakered voice floating over the dream like music.
Kudos to Damaged Goods, also, for releasing these tunes on yellow vinyl.
