Always a proud individualist, the artist formerly known as the Artist Formerly Known As Prince, has a message on his new song: Be your own damned self.

After issuing the bluesy, rock-inspired “Screwdriver,” Prince is back with yet another leaked single — this one far more sensual, with a food-as-sex theme straight out of his carnal 1980s zenith.

Prince has launched a new web site, and it includes the full-length lyric video for his forthcoming song “Screwdriver.” Also featured is clip from the mercurial performer’s 2009 appearance at Montreux.

It seems that many year-end arts and music lists feature a kind of longing look back at the supposed “good old days.”

Strictly speaking, the Mayan calendar doesn’t end at all — not on Friday, not ever. December 21, 2012 is simply the end of a 5125-year cycle. Now that we’ve got that cleared up, we can address the real problem: WE’RE ALL GONNA DIE ANYWAY.
