Gideon King and City Blog are exclusively premiering their new song “Upscale Madhouse” here at Something Else! Check it out through the above embed.

The single opens with beautiful lilting guitar, and a strolling gait takes us into the streets of New York City – the “Upscale Madhouse” of the title, perhaps. The lyrics tell the story of the people met in the city, their characters, some of their tales and back stories. No one is friendly it seems but, “everyone will kiss the rainbow.”

A sad story but one which traverses many aspects and characters of New York People and lives: “Talk ain’t really cheap, when you got nothin’ to say; I’m just a house guest in your soul but I need a place to stay.” The lyrics weave the story of one walker amongst many, each with different tales to tell in the city of dreams.

The single features guitarist Brendan Fletcher and Gideon King proves again that his powerful lyrics, dynamic arrangements and selection of choice musicians are a winning combination. “Upscale Madhouse” is the title track from King’s newest album.
