‘Such an amazing band’: Adam Lambert selects his all-time favorite Queen song

With a history of working with Queen that goes back to his earliest moments of national celebrity, Adam Lambert has had plenty of time to acquaint himself with their storied catalog. And, of course, even before he shared the stage for the first time with Brian May and Roger Taylor during the 2009 Idol finale, Lambert was a bonafide fan of Freddie Mercury’s outsized personality.

Now, after a series of well-received appearances in the meantime, Lambert is now in the midst of a worldwide tour with Queen. That actually makes deciding on a favorite Queen song all the more difficult, it seems.

“It’s really hard to pick a favorite,” Lambert admits, as part of an AT&T Live Proud Q&A. “I mean, I’ve been singing so many of them now for the last couple of weeks, I don’t know. I think it depends on the kind of mood I’m in.”

If anything, he’s come to appreciate the dizzying depth of their achievements: “If you want my kind of favorite sexy, aggressive one, I think ‘Another One Bites the Dust‘ is one,” Lambert adds. “If you want one that is a bit more deep and emotional, and kind of emotional, ‘Who Wants To Live Forever’ is pretty incredible. There’s songs for every mood with Queen’s catalog. That’s what makes them such an amazing band.”
