What do you get when you unleash pianist/composer Sakamoto and noise merchant Lindsay on this early Rolling Stones track? Controlled chaos.
Arto Lindsay has always been one of my favorite guitar players. He’s as comfortable laying down a cool Brazilian groove as he is shearing paint chips off the wall with ferocious distortion. That’s why he fit in so well with the early Lounge Lizards.
On this live arrangement we have a slinky, almost loungy vibe that occasionally erupts into fierce guitar histrionics. Jagger and Richards have never sounded so…strange.
