Drew Citron and Frankie Rose are the talented ladies behind Beverly, whose debut album Careers is slated to be released July 1, 2014. “You Can’t Get It Right” (Kanine Records) is one track set to appear on the disc, and has recently been issued as a single.
Streaked with jiggling guitars bouncing and pouncing with carefree energy, topped with breezy harmonies, the hooky little song tastefully melds a radio-ready pop mentality with a jagged garage-rock stance. A sweet and summery air drives the tune, making it hard to resist shaking the head to and humming along with.
A lone earful of “You Can’t Get It Right” certainly whets the appetite for Beverly’s forthcoming album. No matter what’s hot on the charts, there’s always room for a piece of punchy pop rock, so here’s hoping this great song gives Beverly the attention they deserve.
