‘You could hear his mind whirring’: Christine McVie has submitted new music for Fleetwood Mac

The unlikeliest of reunions — Christine McVie and Fleetwood Mac — continues moving apace after she took the stage with her old band in London, with McVie submitting new songs for their consideration.

McVie had been absent from Fleetwood Mac since the late 1990s before her surprise September appearance with former bandmates Lindsey Buckingham, John McVie, Mick Fleetwood and Stevie Nicks at London’s O2 Arena. That despite her consistent denials over the previous 15 or so years of any interest in returning.

Since, Christine McVie has not only expressed joy over the experience, and the willingness to rescend her premature retirement. She’s also submitted her first original music to the group since “Temporary One,” from 1997’s The Dance — a song — appropriately enough — about returning to her husband and her native England.

“I sent them to Lindsey and he loved them,” McVie tells The Daily Mail of these new demos. “You could hear his mind whirring, figuring how he could improve them, Mac them up.”
