Sure, the leaves haven’t even started changing. The morning jackets are still coming off at lunch. But that doesn’t mean Christmas time isn’t just around the corner. Here’s proof: A sweetly romantic exclusive stream of the title track from Big Bad Voodoo Daddy’s forthcoming Yuletide-themed project.

It’s the jumping-jive group’s first-ever such undertaking, and their second for Savoy Jazz after last year’s Rattle Them Bones, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard jazz charts and at the top of both the iTunes and Amazon jazz lists.

It Feels Like Christmas Time, was co-produced by band founder and lead singer Scott Morris, who also wrote this original. Pianist Joshua Levy also arranged and co-produced the set, which found Big Bad Voodoo Daddy blending old favorites with new songs during sessions at Los Angeles’ East West and Capitol studios. The vocal group “She, Her and I” is featured.

Elsewhere, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy takes on “Christmas is Starting Now,” from the Disney cartoon “Phineus and Ferb,” as well as ridiculously fun trips through more traditional fare like “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” and “Run Run Rudolph,” among others. Amazon bonus tracks include a take on “What Are You Doing New Year’s” with Anna Kasper. It Feels like Christmas Time is set for release on October 22, 2013.
