Queen has begun preparing for its Las Vegas show later this week with Adam Lambert, with Brian May calling yesterday’s initial rehearsal “excellent.”

Queen + Adam Lambert will take the stage on Friday, September 20, 2013, as a highlight of the forthcoming iHeart Radio Festival. Fans who can’t make it to Vegas can watch live at www.iheartradio.com/vegas, as well as on PlayStation 3’s Live Events Viewer this Friday beginning at 10 p.m. Eastern (7 p.m. Pacific).

iHeart radio stations around the country will also be carrying this U.S. debut for Lambert and Queen; go to http://festival.iheart.com/tunein.php to find out more. The former American Idol standout has previously appeared with May and Roger Taylor as part of the popular singing show’s 2009 final, and then on a series of dates through last summer in Europe.

“Excellent first day rehearsing in Las Vegas,” May says, “with the stupendous voice of Adam Lambert. Wow. Somehow the timing feels good.”

Lambert also enthused: “What a treat to once again share the stage with rock royalty.”
