The tireless Bobby Kimball has just returned from a South American tour, and already he’s got plans for another series of concert appearances — this time on the other side of the world.
The ex-Toto frontman, posting on his Facebook page, confirms solo dates in January 2013 in Germany, then a series of appearances in February in Scandinavia and Budapest.
Kimball will then join up again with a group of other famous rock voices as the Legends Band, beginning in late April. Kimball, former Chicago singer Bill Champlin, ex-Journey singer Steve Augeri and former Rainbow/Deep Purple singer Joe Lynn Turner are set for concerts in Russia, Finland and Sweden, Kimball says. He toured with Champlin, Augeri, Turner and others in early 2012 as “Legends: Voices of Rock.”
And Kimball is apparently just getting started. Other dates, he adds, could follow.
“I’m trying to fill in several dates in March,” Kimball says, “because I have several offers to do some concerts and tours that month. Keep an eye on my web site, and those dates will be posted as soon as they become contractually solid.”
On down the road, Kimball also has plans to return to South America, where he says he was met with tremendous affection. “The concerts were sold out, and the people all over South America were some of the greatest music fans I’ve played for,” Kimball says. “After most of the concerts, I would go into the crowd to take photos, and sign autographs for about two or three hours.”
Kimball says he will posting hi-def footage from those shows to his site soon, as well.
