Check out a new remix of the Rolling Stones’ “Doom and Gloom,” which has been glammed up by Benny Benassi. That’s the DJ/producer perhaps best remembered for a club hit from the summer of 2002 called “Satisfaction”, which might have shared a title with a Stones favorite but definitely, definitely wasn’t the same song.
Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Co. originally released “Doom and Gloom,” one of two new cuts, in advance of their latest greatest-hits set GRRR! They represent the first new music from this legendary rock group since 2005’s A Bigger Bang.

The initial take on “Doom and Gloom,” which is streaming below, was produced by longtime collaborator Don Was, who has worked with the Rolling Stones on a handful of previous projects going back nearly two decades: 1994’s Voodoo Lounge and A Bigger Bang, both studio albums; as well as 1995’s Stripped and 2004’s Live Licks, a pair of concert souvenirs.
The Stones, meanwhile, have appeared twice as part of a new 50th anniversary concert series, both times in London. The first U.S. stop in their abbreviated 50 and Counting tour is this week, when the group performs Saturday, December 8, 2012, at the Brooklyn, N.Y.’s Barclays Center. Special guests are to include Gary Clark Jr. and Mary J. Blige, who also appeared during a previous date in London.
The Stones then head over to New Jersey, where they will perform on December 13 and 15, 2012 at Newark’s Prudential Center. The final stop is set to be broadcast live via pay-per-view. “One More Shot,” distributed by WWE, will begin at 9 p.m. ET on December 15.
