Streams: Stevie Wonder’s all-star UN concert, featuring Paul Simon and Sting

Stream Stevie Wonder’s all-star concert in celebration of the UN’s 67th anniversary, which will feature special guests Paul Simon and Sting, as well as a number of other celebrities.

The show, to be held Wednesday night at the UN headquarters, follows Wonder’s recent recognition as a United Nations Messenger of Peace. It will be available at approximately 7 p.m. ET on October 24, 2012, at http://www.un.org/en/.

While recording more than 30 Top 10 U.S. hits and earning some 22 Grammys (most ever for a male solo artist), Wonder has made time for a number of achievements in philanthropy and activism.

Notable efforts include his campaign to make Martin Luther King Day a recognized U.S. holiday, his advocacy against apartheid in South Africa, and his work with the President’s Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities. Wonder has also spearheaded his own Wonder Vision Awards program, and provided gifts for needy families through his annual benefit House Full of Toys concert.

Others slated to be a part of Wonder’s Wednesday event include Wyclef Jean, Bebe Winans, Susan Sarandon, Elle Varner, Malcolm-Jamal Warner and Michael Bivins. The concert, which is not open to the public, will be aired next at via BET and Centric, beginning at 7 p.m. February 23, 2013.
