“I Don’t Want Anything to Change” also features George Marinelli on electric guitar, Ricky Peterson on keyboards, James “Hutch” Hutchinson on bass and Ricky Fataar at the drums. Recorded during a 2009 concert at the Peoria Civic Center, the song works as a thank you to fans “for your support and excitement about my new album and tour,” Raitt says. “Maia has opened a lot of my shows, and we’ve sung on each others’ last two records, including her great backing vocals on my new one.”

The Grammy-winning singer-guitarist’s long-awaited new album, called Slipstream, is due April 10 from Redwing Records. A standout cut promises to be Raitt’s take on Bob Dylan’s “Million Miles,” from his 1997 comeback album Time Out of Mind. The album is Raitt’s first new studio release in seven years. Sharp will also have a new studio project, set for release this summer, called Change the Ending.
