Just days after her death at age 73, soul singer Etta James has climbed to her highest-ever position on the Billboard album charts. The Best of Etta James rose from No. 162 to 46 in the 48 hour period after her passing on January 20.

James’ previous best had been 1961’s At Last, which peaked at No. 68.

Total sales of the legendary soul singer’s albums increased by a staggering 378 percent over the previous week. Some 30,000 copies sold in the week following her death, compared to just over 6,000 copies the previous week, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Two other albums are also charting from James long career, 1997’s Her Best (at No. 59 on the Billboard 200) and At Last, which was at No. 96. The title track from that release, her signature song, was James’ best-selling side with 63,000 downloads.

James died at Riverside Community Hospital in California after a long bout with leukemia. A memorial service will be held in her honor on Friday in Inglewood, Los Angeles, where her body will lie in state. Private funeral services will follow on Saturday in Gardena, California, with a eulogy by the Rev. Al Sharpton.
